For this UI assignment I designed a responsive banking application covering three core screens: an accounts overview, a transaction history, and a spending insights dashboard. Each screen was worked out for mobile, tablet and desktop, applying consistent layout and hierarchy across all breakpoints.
The design brief called for a look that is clear, playful and trustworthy. A challenging combination for a financial product, where trust is critical. I chose a dark navy header and footer to give the interface structure and personality, while keeping the content area in neutral tones to maintain readability and calm. Typography plays a key role throughout: a clean, legible font with varied weights to create hierarchy and guide the eye through dense financial information.
One of the main challenges was making financial data feel digestible without losing its accuracy. The insights screen in particular required careful decisions around data visualisation. Balancing graphs, statistics and summaries in a way that informs without overwhelming.
If I had more time I would have explored more colour variations and developed custom icons and illustrations to give the brand more personality and lean more into the playful side.
